Farewell André Leon Talley

We were saddened to hear the news that fashion guru Andre Leon Talley passed away recently. Andre was one of the true original inspirations for our collection due to his unique impeccable wardrobe. He wasn’t afraid to stand out. A true advocate for glamour and opulence.

One of our favourite quotes from Andre is about the connection between the wearer and emotion; “Wearing clothes should be a personal narrative of emotion. I always respond to fashion in an emotional way”.

At Byroses it is this connection that drives us. Emotion sits at the heart of everything we do, so for us, André Leon Talley is one of our unofficial mentors. His views on life, love for fashion, his charm and whit and knowledge of his craft is a big inspiration for us.

Whilst he will be missed, we look forward to reading more about his life and influence on fashion in his memoir, ‘The Chiffon Trenches’ which arrived on our doorstep this week.
